CLASSROOM POLICIES
GRADES – Grades will be based on a combination of the following: tests, quizzes, homework, oral presentations and/or class participation, journals, and the final exam. The semester grade will be based on an cumulative score for the two quarters. The following scale will be used: A=90%-100%; B=80-89%; C=70-79%; D=60-69%; F= below 60%.
MAKE-UP TESTS/LATE WORK – Make up exams must be done at lunch or after school. It is the student’s responsibility to contact me about making up missed assignments. You will have three days to make up work after an excused absence. Late work will not be accepted after an unexcused absence.
ABSENCES/TARDIES – I will be following the school’s standard rules concerning absences and tardies. If you are tardy two times in any quarter you will receive lunch work detail for every additional tardy. Unexcused absences will result in referrals to the office and possible removal from the class.
MATERIALS – You will need to bring paper, a notebook, and a pen or pencil to class everyday.
RULES –
1. Come to class prepared to work
2. Do not distract other students
3. Obey all school rules
If disruptions occur I will give the student a verbal warning. If the behavior does not improve, the next step will be an assignment to lunch time work detail or a ten minute detention after school. Disruptive behavior can lead to a phone call home and/or referrals to the office if the problem persists. District policy states that harassment in or out of the classroom is not to be tolerated. Harassment based on race, ethnicity, able-bodiedness, sexuality, perceived sexuality, gender, gender expression, monetary standing, religion or faith-base, or any other factor will be reported to the administration and dealt with accordingly. This includes slang such as “that’s so gay” or “that’s retarded.” Both are considered hate speech.

Parents, if you have questions or concerns about your student, please contact me at or at [email protected].
