Ashley Scharff

2000 SRVHS Athletic Hall of Fame

Ashley Scharff, Class of 1992:

Ashley Scharff attended San Ramon Valley High School from 1988 until graduating in 1992. Mrs. Scharff played a total of 12 Varsity seasons at SRVHS, 4 each in Soccer, Track & Field, and Volleyball. She was named All-League for 5 seasons, 3 seasons for Soccer and 2 seasons for Volleyball. Ashley placed in the top four at N.C.S. for 4 seasons in 11 different track events.

Scharff has also been selected “Athlete of the Week” 11 times, 7 for soccer and 4 for Track & Field. She has competed at the state level 3 times and was EBAL league champion in 100-meter hurdles, 4-40 relay, long jump, and the mile relay as well as North Coast Section Champion in the 440 relay. She was payer of the year for 2 years for Volleyball and a member of the Contra Costa County All-Star Volleyball Team.

Ashley holds several Track & Field records at SRVHS including the 100-meter hurdles, the 440 relay, and the mile relay. She was awarded the highest award on the track team, The Bob Frick Award (name sound familiar?) It is easy to see why in 1992 Mrs. Scharff was selected the SRVHS Female Athlete of the Year.

Scharff continued her education at University of Notre Dame where she played soccer as a starting sweeper. She was named All-Mid-Western and All-Big East and was NCAA National Champion for 1 year. In 1995 she was named Co-Athlete of the Year. That same year, Ashley was selected to the Tri-Valley Hall of Fame for her stellar soccer career.

After being wed to a fellow Notre Dame Graduated in 1997, Ashley Scharff settled in Chicago Illinois and is a Executive Recruiting Specialist in Global Marketing & Communications for Anderson Consulting Co. Ashley still enjoys playing soccer and volleyball year round.
