Guy Houston, Class of 1978:

Guy Houston attended San Ramon Valley High School from 1975 until graduation in 1978. Mr. Houston played 3 varsity seasons for the Varsity Football Team. He was All East Bay Athletic League 1977, All East Bay 1977, All Northern California 1977 and a Contra Costa County All-Star participant in 1978. Guy was quarterback for the 1977 EBAl Championship Team. In addition Mr. Houston set many school records including Most Yards Passing in a Season (1,908) in 1977, Most Touchdown Passes (20) in 1977.

Guy also play 2 varsity seasons for the Varsity Baseball Team and was named All East Bay Athletic League in 1977 and Second Team All East Bay in 1977. Houston was a pitcher for the 1977 EBAl Championship Team.

Mr. Houston went on to attend St. Mary’s College on an athletic scholarship and played both football and baseball. In 1980, Guy played Semi-Pro baseball for Biggs Realty of Richmond who were North State Champions and played in a National Tournament in Wichita, KS. He graduated from St. Mary’s in 1982 with a BS in Business Administration and again in 1987 with a Master’s in Business Administration.

Mr. Houston co-founded the San Ramon-Monte Vista Alumni Football Game 1985-87. Three annual football games and five golf tournaments helped raise over $30,000 for San Ramon and Monte Vista football programs.

In 1992, Houston was elected to the Dublin City Council and elected Mayor of Dublin in 1994 winning reelection three times. Guy Houston was currently a candidate for the California State Assembly.
