2007 SRVHS Athletic Hall of Fame


Jeff Kopp, Class of 1990:

Jeff Kopp is being honored for his achievements in both Football and Track & Field at SRVHS. While Mr. Kopp excelled at Varsity Track & Field, his main accomplishments come as a Football star.

Jeff played Varsity Football for two years and in that time was named All-League Linebacker, All-Bay Area Linebacker, All NorCal, Tri-Valley Herald Fall Athlete of the Year, California First-Team All-State Linebacker, California Defensive Player of the Year, Super Prep All-American Linebacker, and USA Today Top 100 Player of the Year as Linebacker.

In addition Jeff was named Pre-Season All-American by Super Prep Magazine, Pre-Season All-American by Sporting News Magazine, Pre-Season All-State by Cal-Hi Sports and was ranked number two linebacker in California.

Kopp was First-Team All-League EBAL as both Linebacker and Offensive Tackle. He was the Unanimous All-East Bay Linebacker and named player of the year by Alameda Newspaper.

Kopp went on to USC as a four year Letterman on a full athletic scholarship. He was Team Captain in 1994 and a Butkus Award Candidate that year. Jeff graduated with a BA in Letters, Arts and Sciences in 1995.

Kopp’s professional career begins in 1995, drafted to the NFL by the Miami Dolphins. Jeff played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots Football Team. He played in the NFL Playoffs three of five seasons and one AFC Championship game in 1996.

Jeff has also competed in Professional Rodeos, finished several half-triathlons and currently races on a Professional Cycling Team.

He credits his wife of 11 years and his two children as being his driving force in life. Mr. Kopp currently owns an investment firm as well as two bike shops in Florida.
