Welcome to CollegeConnect!

About the CollegeConnect Pilot

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) has partnered with Diablo Valley College (DVC), San Ramon to pilot the CollegeConnect Program to qualified rising 11th graders. This exceptional educational opportunity provides SRVUSD students with accelerated learning in the company of other college bound students, while preserving their high school experience.

Participating CollegeConnect students enroll in a shortened high school schedule so that they may attend college courses. During their 11th and 12th grade years, CollegeConnect students can complete up to 30 units of transferable credit aligned with the University of California’s (UC) and California State University (CSU) Inter-segmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) requirements.  Essentially, successful students may complete their first year of college by the time that they graduate from high school[1].  Students may choose to continue at DVC and transfer to a UC or CSU as a junior, complete a career certificate in a qualifying field, or earn an associate degree. Students may also choose to transfer approximately one year of college credits to one of the campuses of the California UC or CSU system.

My name is Tracey Naritomi, and this is my 9th school year teaching culinary arts at SRVHS.
This will be my second year as the support teacher for the CollegeConnect program.
I was born and raised in New Jersey and have been living in California since 1990.  I am a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.  I have had more than 20 years experience in the restaurant business and have worked in casual, corporate, and fine dining. I even had the opportunity to work in the World Trade Center before moving to California. I have worked in many different positions in the restaurant business, including management, event planning, catering, and cooking. In 2003 I started a business, Little Chef, where I taught cooking to elementary and junior high students. I enjoyed it so much that I prepared for and received my Career Technical Education Teaching Credential.
I look forward to working with your students this year!
