Julie Jenkins Watters, Class of 1992:

Julie was one of the most versatile and successful Track and Field athletes in San Ramon High School history. While she had a fine career in both Soccer and Cross Country, it is in Track and Field where she made history. Over the course of her High School career, Julie competed in 10 different events. Julie made it all the way to the State Track Meet in three consecutive years, in a total of eight events.

In 1990 she competed at the State Track Meet in the high jump and 400 meter relay. Also in 1990, she won a U.S. National Heptathlon in her age group.

In 1991, Julie competed at the State Track Meet in the 100 and the 300 meter hurdles as well earning a medal for her 5th place finish in the high jump. As a senior, she once again competed in the State Meet in the 100 and 300M hurdles and took home a bronze medal for her 3rd place finish in the high jump. That same year, Julie won the Sunkist National Indoor meet with the number one jump in the country at 5’ 10”. Julie is still the school record holder in the high jump and triple jump and well as being number two all-time in the 100M hurdles. Her name appears on the San Ramon H.S. top-ten list in seven different events.

Of course her career did not stop there. Julie was a four year All-Conference selection at Boise State. In 1996, she was a Division I All-American in the high jump and is the current school record holder indoors at 5’11 ¾”.

Currently, Julie is a Client Manager for Women’s and Children’s Health at Alere Health. Julie lives with her husband, Eric, and two children in Marietta, GA.
