Dave Kravitz, Football Coach:

Dave Kravitz is the most successful Football coach in San Ramon Valley’s long history of Football excellence. Part of that success can be attributed to the fact that he really cared about each individual player, and because of that loyalty and respect for his players, his players gave it right back to him. He preached pride, poise, discipline and determination. Dave was a fiery competitor who demanded and held all his teams to a certain expectation/tradition of being great. He had a way of bringing out the best in each player, because no player ever wanted to let him down. He was a hard-nosed, blue collar coach and he instilled that into each player and team.

Dave set many Football coaching records at SRV. He had the longest tenure of any Head Football Coach in SRV history at 17 years from 1993-2009. He has the most wins in school history with 129. He has the most 10 win seasons (4), and most wins in a single season (12). He led the team to the most North Coast Section (NCS) appearances, most top 4 finishes at NCS with 6, and two NCS Championships.

Coach Kravitz coached numerous student athletes that went on to play at the college level with some playing in the National Football League. He is known for producing several Division I college quarterbacks. Above all, he coached with integrity, pride, and honor and was a tremendous role model for hundreds of SRV student athletes. Former player, Greg Wilson wrote, “He was probably the best coach I've ever had to this day, and I feel honored to have ever buckled up my chinstrap under his command.”

He and his wife Shelli live in San Ramon and have four children: Drew, 23; Alex, 21; Trent, 16; and Katie, 14. Dave works as the Vice Principal at Daugherty Valley High School.
