Tina Bowen

2007 SRVHS Athletic Hall of Fame

Tina Bowen, Class of 1996:

Tina Bowen, SRVHS Class of 1996, is being honored this evening for her prowess as a Cross Country and Track & Field Athlete.

Tina played four varsity seasons at San Ramon, three years of which she placed in the top four at N.C.S. Tina was a very accomplished athlete and was honored by being named All League four seasons in a row.

Tina dazzled the competition and honored our school by competing four times at the state level. Moreover, she managed to set three SRVHS records in Track & Field – all of which still stand today.

Tina ran the 800m in 2:13:39; the 1600m in 4:59:63, and the 3200m in 10:49:90. All of which are outstanding accomplishments that have stood the test of time.

Current Track & Field Coach Time Hunter, who nominated Miss Bowen, had the pleasure of meeting Time before her graduation from SRVHS and describes Tina as an ‘Ultra-Competitor’ who achieved her goals through hard work, dedication, practice, sheer talent, and a positive attitude – rounded out by a fantastic smile.

Tina went ton to UCLA to perform her talents in both disciplines of Cross Country and Track. She was named All PAC-10 in both sports and was honored with All-American in Track.

Tina Bowen truly embodies the spirit of athleticism and integrity that San Ramon Valley High School strives for and is thus honored tonight for her fortitude and example to future athletes.
