Peter Worstell - Coach - Lacrosse
Put simply, Peter is synonymous with Lacrosse in the San Ramon Valley and across the country.  He was the founder of San Ramon Valley Lacrosse program for both the men’s and women’s back in 2002.  Peter was also instrumental in launching the Lacrosse programs at several other local high schools, turning the tough EBAL into one of the most competitive leagues across the state of California.

Under Peter, SRV is recognized as one of the top high school lacrosse programs in the country.  The Wolves have won 5 EBAL Championships and 3 NCS titles with 21 players earning All-American honors. Because of his programs success, players are frequently going on to play lacrosse at top colleges across the country.  For example, the current SRV team, includes 7 Division 1 committed athletes. Peter has been named EBAL “Coach of The Year” several times and most recently honored with the US Lacrosse Todd French “Man of The Year” award.

A big part of his success at SRV involved his aspiration to help grow and develop the game at the youth level to build the sport from a strong base of participants.  Peter was one of the founders of the Diablo Scorpions youth lacrosse program 15 years ago.  This program has now become one of the largest youth lacrosse programs west of the Mississippi. Diablo Scorpions has introduced the sport to tens of thousands of kids.
Peter is also the founder of two nationally recognized camps known as “Be the Best and California Gold”.  These annual events drew the involvement of iconic college and professional coaches and players from around the country. Over the years, thousands of high school and youth players from all over the western United States participated.
Peter was recruited out of high school and attended the University of Maryland.  He was a four time All American during his playing days and the only player in Maryland history to be named All- American at two different positions. (Midfield/Attack).

Most importantly, Peter is a pillar in the community, standing for developing young people of character.
