I have a Clear English and Social Studies Secondary California Teaching Credentials, the CLAD, and I have also earned both my Intel Teach to the Future Certificate and an Arts Integration Certificate for Secondary Education. Additionally, I have an MA in English and experience not only teaching, but also working professionally in broadcast and journalism communications. Having taught at middle and high schools, along with colleges and universities, combined with working professionally in the media field, I recognize the challenges students encounter, not only at each turn in their education, but also in their careers. My varied skills and experiences can help prepare your student for those challenges. RECOMMENDED MATERIALS FOR STUDENTS Several blue pens; black pens; red pens for class correcting; pencils; erasers; a single binder for English, OR one shared with only ONE other class,divide the binder into the following sections with clearly labeled tabs: Intro & HW, Reading/Vocab, Writing, Conventions; one notebook (please AVOID spiral unless they have a thin line of perforations that make it easier to tear out the page --spiral notebooks often leave scraggly strips of paper everywhere, but notebooks with the pages glued together or that have the perforations are good) this is for their Warm Ups. Other optional supplies: colored pencils, markers, highlighter, Post-It notes, a USB stick (may be used for other classes too) may be useful |
