San Ramon Valley High School

CollegeConnect

Dear SRVUSD sophomores and parents of sophomore students,

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) is accepting applications for the second cohort of the CollegeConnect pilot program. CollegeConnect is a unique dual enrollment program offered in partnership with Diablo Valley College (DVC), San Ramon Campus. Through CollegeConnect, high school juniors may enroll in a shortened high school schedule so that they may attend college courses during their regular school day. Pilot participants receive accelerated learning in the company of other college-bound cohort members, while preserving their high school experience.

CollegeConnect students participate during their 11th and 12th grade years and may fulfill up to the first year of the University of California’s (UC) and California State University’s (CSU) Inter-segmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) requirements[1].  Essentially, successful students may complete their first year of college by the time that they graduate from high school.

As juniors and seniors, CollegeConnect students take four courses at their home school and two courses per semester at DVC, San Ramon Campus. Additionally, students may take coursework during the summer and are provided with a weekly support course. Free tuition and book expenses are provided for participating students. Students are required to provide their own transportation.

If your 10th grader is interested in applying to participate in CollegeConnect, please complete an application and personally deliver all application materials no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017 to:
